Dharamsala

Finally out of Delhi and it’s toxic air. Landed in Dharamsala and didn’t realize I would have a majestic view of the Himalayas. Clean, pure air!

My taxi driver was a maniac! Man, that was probably some of the scariest minutes of my life. The road to Mcleod Ganj is narrow and he was speeding and overtaking like he had an emergency.

Kunga Guest House and Nick’s Italian Kitchen look promising. I went to the Security Office to register for the public teachings of HH. Met two young Tibetans while in the queue — Kelsang, a very pleasant young woman from Ladakh, and Karma (what a name?!), a gorgeous young guy who came from Tibet when he was 11 years old.

Walked to the Dalai Lama temple and a swarm of humanity was walking in the opposite direction. Went inside and looked around. Still a lot of people listening to a speaker and just milling around. I managed to remember to ask how to get a private audience with HH. Prepared a letter and spoke with a Reception guy. Fingers crossed. Decided to go to Tibetan library which was in the government complex. I am kind of amazed that they have a Supreme Court and other administrative offices — I was kind of expecting they would have something more exotic. It was a long walk by the way.

Then went to Illiterati Cafe. Very cool and calm vibe. Owner suggested The Other Space to hold my kindness event. Beautiful space — coffee shop, art gallery and co-working space.

Walked back to Kunga and I was pooped. Hope I’m not coming down with something.

Beautiful views from the room. Thomas Patoureaux, a French guy I connected with in my first 10 day silent retreat in Thailand is joining me on Nov 10.

I wonder what has happened to my other friends from that retreat.

I was even able to look at thangkas. Should I get for my future temple? 🙂

I was messaging with Viber groups and other friends through WhatsApp. Good way to continue to connect. FB deactivated but I might need to reactivate for kindness event.

Quite an accomplished day I have to say. Maybe I need to slow down…
