Empathy

I decided to just chill today. For one, rain is in the forecast. And two, I seem to have twisted my left foot and couldn’t walk well. Which will make it hard to hike up to Dharamkot for some pottery making.

I went to a coffee shop for breakfast and read some vipassana related materials. The Manual of Insight by Mahasi Sayadaw. And some articles about what to expect in a vipassana retreat. Hour long sits! That I don’t think I’ve done. But that would definitely be challenging physically. I must prepare. Salonpas!

I went to the Dalai Lama Temple and sat for half an hour. Followed up with OHHDL reception and disappointingly he said my request would probably not be granted because HH is traveling to Amritsar.

I went to the Tibet Museum and read through the exhibit. I feel for these people. I find myself feeling more and more empathy for others. Including the girls who carry bricks on their heads for construction. My heart seems wide open.
I saw Karma with another young Western sounding Tibetan looking guy. Said hi. Karma said they were traveling to Nepal for fun.

It rained hail in McLlo. And my left foot is acting up. So many anxious thoughts. Rich soil for practice.
